Introducing Answer Widgets

You'll notice that there is an answer widget which may appear on the right side (desktop) or top (mobile) of the results list. This is triggered either via keywords in your search query or from the relevant organic search results related to your query. For example, "Breckenridge" appearing in a query will trigger our Ski Resort widget containing detailed mountain stats including vertical drop, trails, and phone number. Or having "btc" or "ethereum" in your query will trigger a daily price quote.

Is only one displayed at a time?

Ideally, we prefer to only display one answer widget to avoid too much clutter. We show the one with the most relevancy (trade secret), however, it is possible to have 2x very relevant answers and have both shown. It all depends on the query.

How many widgets are there?

We're adding more every day and always tinkering with relevance. Here is short list of active or very close to being active answer widgets: Wikipedia, Stock Quotes, Dictionary, Unit Conversion, Weather Forecast, Skiing Resort Info and Trailmaps, Crypto Currency Pricing, Vehicle MPG, Holidays, Sunrise/Sunset, High/Low Tide, and more pending.
